My Hair Trial

As promised, I took pictures of my hair trial with the fantastic Jessica DeGravio of Shampoo Salon in Dennis, MA.  This was the first time I had met her and I was nervous about using someone I didn't know for such an important part of my wedding.  But all my fears were assuaged once I saw the final product.  She was so helpful as I really had no idea what I wanted, other than something pretty and natural.  We decided upon a loose wavy updo, and I love the way it turned out.

I still haven't decided upon flowers yet. I told her I was debating between a giant flower clip from Etsy and fresh flowers from my florist. She ingeniously decided to make "toilet paper flowers" by bunching up toilet paper to look like white flowers and putting them in my hair (sadly I don't have pictures of this). I liked how it looked, and now I figure, if I like how toilet paper looks in my hair then maybe I should go with real flowers after all! We'll see . . . Did anyone else debate about what to put in their hair as much as I am?

  1. what a beautiful updo - it's beautiful. I had mini real chamomile flowers in my hair, they lasted thru most of the wedding - just towards the end of the wedding they started wilting and falling out, but I also had a garden reception on an 82 degree sunny day.

  2. Looks gorgeous! I was thinking of leaving my hair down so it looks natural, but if I can get it to look anything like this, I might do an updo as well. I think flowers in your hair would look best with this style.

  3. Your hair is beautiful!!! I want a flower in my hair for the reception, probably going to get one of the ones from etsy made out of feathers.

  5. It's stunning! I am not fond of up-do's but this is one of those styles that I almost don't like to term as such because it truly lets your natural hair flow and be seen. Wish you would have shared the front view with us :) Maybe another time?

  6. Thanks for all the great feedback ladies! I really want fresh flowers but like Brenda said, I'm worried about them wilting, though maybe the cold will help prevent that, whereas a fake one from Etsy will last forever. Plus it's probably going to be really windy (it always is by the beach) and I don't want them to fall apart and blow away. I'm glad everyone likes the style though! Decisions decisions!

  7. GORGEOUS !!! I love it. It looks better than any of those pictures you shared here before. So natural.
Flowers will add a special touch for sure, but you made a good point about the real ones blowing away. Perhaps a fake one from Etsy will do just fine. They have great things over there.

~BTW, I left you an award over my blog today. Hope you enjoy it. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  12. I'm going through back posts on here and I'm so in love with your hair!

I hope you don't mind, but I very well may send pictures of this to my hairstylist, though I don't think my thin hair would hold a curl like that for a whole day.
